Innovation and Transformation Manager – Augusta, GA

 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Services Leader, the Innovation and Transformation Manager will be responsible for delivering the key initiatives of the business that provide a technology differentiation.  The Innovation and Transformation Manager will function as a bridge between the Commercial/R&D teams and the Operations team to strengthen our technical capability and to accelerate the deployment of the key initiatives faster than the competition.

 

The position will focus on the following areas:

 

·         Supporting and monitoring new technological advancements with support from the Manufacturing Services Leader and Engineering team and as well as multi-disciplinary roles within Morgan and the Thermal Ceramics Group.

·         Developing and managing regularly scheduled status "report" meetings which indicate both the plan/milestones for implementations as well as comparison to plan.

·         Supporting and working with the required disciplines within the organization that the new technological advancement would affect to ensure manufacturability.

·         Supporting developments in new industry trends; product lines, materials, technologies, to support commercial requirements, product innovation, and process efficiency.

·         Developing budgets with respect to the focus projects and monitor the associated costs.

·         Gathering and compiling the R&D submission information that pertains to each focus project.

·         Scheduling and coordinating all tryout requests, and ensuring proper materials, personnel, and other requirements are on hand for successful trial on/off site locations.

·         Scheduling manufacturing site visits and responding to internal requests appropriately to maintain an excellent partnership between all parties involved in Thermal Ceramics Business.

·         Composing technical documentation, detailed meeting minutes (as required) for specified project.

·         Developing a clear transition process that allows for the seamless handover of process and/or products from R&D to manufacturing.

·         Composing technical process and operational presentations illustrating technological advancements within the industry and company to ensure effective communication and standardization.

·         Reviewing and evaluating new technologies as to their potential (short term and long term) to advance Morgan / Thermal Ceramics as the supplier of choice.

·         Evaluating technologies as to their full impact on processes if implemented.

·         Conducting return on investments and return on assets analysis.

 

Ideally, we are looking for a person BS degree in engineering and 3-5 years of experience an industrial or manufacturing setting.  Experience in technological advancement, new product/process implementation, and greenfield experience. Experience operating in ERP systems, advanced MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management, good report writing, and data analysis skills.

 

Candidate should possess superior organization, communications, presentation skills, critical thinking, and EQ with the ability to perform as a Leader and Collaborator and communicate comfortably at all levels of the organization.
